Medtronic Thailand was established in 1999 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Medtronic, with its headquarters located in Bangkok. The company has grown to become a leading provider of medical technology products and services in Thailand, serving a wide range of healthcare providers, including hospitals, clinics, and patients. The company has also been recognized for its corporate social responsibility initiatives, which focus on supporting communities in need and promoting health and wellness.
Medtronic is a big company that has recently implemented a new structure and has embraced remote working for quite a long period. As a result, they have recognized the need for employees from various business units to know each other and collaborate effectively.
To foster cross-functional teamwork, the company is emphasizing the importance of employees building relationships and understanding each other’s roles and responsibilities. By doing so, they hope to enhance communication, improve productivity, and achieve their goals.
Asian Identity was given the opportunity to assist Medtronic Thailand in their objective of effectively communicating and re-motivating their employees towards achieving common goals and creating a more collaborative cross-functional work environment.

Team Training Workshop
We organized a half-day Team Training Workshop for 120 Medtronic staff from diverse business units whereby we embarked on bringing everyone to reconsider his/her/their communication style on an interpersonal level, as well as that of their business unit. We opened the space for the individuals to share and engage in dialogues, discussing the ways in which communication patterns intersect with their work and team dynamics.
Then, to shed light on the importance of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), we challenged them with a group activity in which everyone in the team has to play collaboratively to achieve the target.
Through the activities and the reflections, we aimed to revitalize a sense of team synergy—deterritorializing the boundary once highlighted by remote working amidst the pandemic—and recharge the vitality of collaboration across business units.
Management Communication Training
We also arranged a one-day workshop for the management level of Medtronic Thailand. In this open forum, we provided them an opportunity to retrospect and reconsider the complexity of communication on a team level. By engaging in our devised team activities, the participants were able to gain more awareness of the significance of communication and reflected it in their professional lives of working.
Thereafter, the participants delved into a discussion that focused on conceptualizing the essential elements of their working habits that serve as a guide in navigating the team toward achieving their goals.
In the final part of the workshop lay the meaningful circle sharing of all participants where they expressed their feelings and prospects toward their day-to-day work and Medtronic Thailand—the wish to contribute to the company as an individual commitment.

Asian Identity firmly believes that promoting a heightened sense of collaboration amongst various departments will serve as one of the essential keys to the company’s overall success; that is to reduce the impact of that transition back from remote working and to ensure the staff regain their confidence and foster a more pleasurable work environment for all members of the organization.
