In August 3rd, 2018, Mr. Katsuhiro Nakamura, our CEO&Founders, together with our General Manager and Senior Consultant participated in “The Global HR Forum Japan 2018” in Tokyo as panelists.
“The Global HR Forum Japan 2018” was held by Link Global Solution Inc. with a theme, “Surviving in the Face of VUCA, Diversity, and Cross-border, Cross-cultural Business Landscapes”. The forum hold 20 sessions in one day by variety of professionals, coming from different countries and different business sectors.
Facilitated by Mr. Nakamura, Mr. Ekajit Chamsai, our General Manger, and Ms. Thiranart Napapruekchart,Senior Consultant, spoke in a session, “Win-win expat selection for both HQ and overseas branches – Voices from local managers and Japanese expatriates in Thailand”. From their experiences of working closely with Japanese clients in Thailand, they shared the effects of the selection of expatriates, such as how they benefit or undermine local employees’ morale, team performance, working culture, and ability to retain top local talents. In addition, they discussed about the expectations about selection process and criteria from the point of view of local subsidiaries.
Furthermore, Mr. Nakamura also took a part in a seminar, “Reconsideration of developing global talents by past expatriates”. Along with 2 Japanese speakers, past expatriates in Thailand, Mr. Nakamura discussed how the HR in Japan headquarter can support expatriates before, during, and after the assignment in abroad.
