Due to Covid-19, the world as we know it has changed. Remote working has become a normal practice, digital transformation has sped up by several years, and job stability can no longer be expected. This uncertain environment calls for new leadership; the leadership that will help us to navigate through the new reality and toward success.
On 16th September 2020, Asian Identity conducted a special online seminar via Zoom on the topic of “Leadership in the New Normal” where we had many HRs and managers from various companies in Thailand joining us. The seminar was led by Asian Identity’s CEO, Mr. Nakamura Katsuhiro.
In the seminar, Mr. Nakamura shared with the participants 3 key concepts that are crucial for leaders to effectively lead their team into the post-pandemic world, giving examples from companies around the world and sharing how he himself is leading Asian Identity team in this tough environment.
The 3 concepts are as follow:
- Philosophy – To communicate the company’s direction and vision to the employees and doing so in a compassionate manner. By knowing the purpose, employees will be able to see the meaning in the work they do and know what guideline to follow when making important decisions.
- Disruptive thinking – To identify opportunities from the changes that occurred instead of being stuck in the old practice while making excuses. This will allow you and your team to adapt and grow even when faced with the unexpected.
- Remote trust – To be aware of bias and pre-mature assumptions one could have about subordinates when working remotely and make judgements based on facts. This will help to prevent conflicts and misunderstandings.
We thank you all who participated in the seminar and hope that it has helped many people to realize the emerging importance of above concepts as leaders for the elevation of your organization and its people.
