Many companies hope to create a culture that promotes interaction and engagement between employees because it is through this interaction and exchange of thoughts between employees which gives rise to new values, innovative ideas, and better results for the company.
Mitsubishi Pencil (Thailand) entered the Thai market in 2012, selling ballpoint pens and other products at department stores and other outlets throughout Thailand. The two-day workshop, Basic Business Mindset Workshop, was held with the aim of strengthening the organization so that each member can work with high motivation and produce great results as a team.
During the two-day workshop, participants learned about “Teamwork”, “Customer First”, “Professionalism”, “Task Management”, “Motivation”, and “Identity” through a variety of activities and lectures.
One of the characteristics of Asian Identity’s workshops is that they incorporate many activities and are designed to help participants gain awareness and learn while fully utilizing both their bodies and minds to improve their mindset and actions.
Through this workshop, participant engaged in various activities, such as reflecting on one’s own past and using a framework to organize thoughts about their own identity like “why are you doing this work” and “what do you value in life” and sharing their thoughts. Participants also had to analyze case study, identifying problems from the customer’s perspective and thinking about the issues and solutions from the company’s perspective.
Participants seemed to enjoy interacting with each other through the activities, lively exchanging opinions, and deepening each other’s learning. It was also impressive to see participants deciding to take proactive actions such as “supporting what I can do” and “asking other departments for the support needed in the course of their work”.
After the workshop, participants commented on the following.
- “Through the activities, I was able to understand the ideas and working styles of other members better than ever.”
- “ I will try to think and act from the other person’s point of view more in order to achieve the goal together with a clear vision.”
- “I realized that I need to find my own “Will” and “Can” in my work, and not just focus on what is written in the job description.”
- “Before, I was only focused on my team and did not think much about the needs of my customers. The Customer First concept has made me realize what our customers really want and what their pain points are.”
