News, Our Works
On September 12, 2025, Asian Identity had the opportunity to organize a Diversity & Cross-Cultural Management Workshop for the subsidiaries of Asahi Kasei Group, which operates in various industries, including:
One of the key highlights of the workshop was an engaging activity that allowed participants to reflect on their own perspectives through a self-assessment, providing them with valuable insights into their personal traits and behaviors. Participants had the opportunity to compare their assessment results with those of their colleagues, helping them understand the similarities and differences in their working styles. This activity was instrumental in fostering mutual understanding, particularly in the context of teamwork. Furthermore, the workshop provided practical guidance on how to effectively collaborate with others under diverse conditions, turning these differences into strengths.
Following this, participants engaged in discussions about personal values and the impact these values have on their work dynamics. They explored various factors that could potentially lead to conflicts between individuals from different cultural backgrounds, such as biases, work ethics, and differing levels of adherence to societal norms.
The session also included a case study exercise, allowing participants to analyze both positive and negative situations. This exercise helped participants develop greater empathy and understanding, particularly for colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. In addition, they worked together to identify the root causes of conflicts and collaboratively explored strategies to enhance teamwork and improve organizational effectiveness.
The feedback from the workshop participants was overwhelmingly positive:
I really appreciated the Work-Culture Standing Point activity, especially the exploration of Low Context / High Context communication styles, as it provided practical insights for communication at work, helping to reduce mistakes and misunderstandings. It will definitely enhance collaboration and problem-solving within our team.
I plan to apply the knowledge gained from the Work-Culture Standing Point activity into my daily work interactions. By observing the differing perspectives of others, I believe I can adjust my approach to teamwork, ensuring more effective and harmonious collaboration.
The workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of others, particularly regarding cultural differences. I now see the importance of addressing biases and have learned practical strategies to prevent misunderstandings in the workplace.
The facilitator was energetic and skilled in delivering the content. The activities were engaging and enjoyable, keeping me actively involved throughout the workshop.
Asian Identity would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Asahi Kasei Group for their trust and for providing us with the opportunity to contribute to fostering cultural understanding within their organization. We sincerely hope that the knowledge and experiences shared during this workshop will be beneficial in strengthening collaboration and supporting Asahi Kasei’s ongoing journey toward long-term success and sustainability.
